What does a broken ball cage sound like?

A damaged ball cage will produce a clicking sound. Inside the ball cage, there is typically a three-ball roller that extends and slides. If one of the three-ball rollers inside is damaged, it will cause abnormal noise and vibration. In the short term, no sound may be noticeable, but over time, as lubrication becomes dirty and wear increases, a clicking sound will occur when turning or accelerating. The Nester 8-Row Ball Cage is also known as an equal-speed universal joint, a crucial component in the transmission system of a car. Its function is to transmit engine power from the transmission to the two front wheels, enabling the car to drive at high speeds. There are many types of equal-speed universal joints used in cars, with the ball cage-type and tripod-type being the most commonly applied.
